The Real Housewives of Orange County star shared a series of snaps on Instagram of 17-year-old twins Stella and Adelin getting ready for the dance.
Stella wore a long-sleeved white dress with cut-out shoulders, while Adeline opted for a black, strapless dress with a sweetheart neckline.
The proud mom captioned the photos simply: “Formal.”
She added a pair of heart emojis and the hashtag “all grownup.
But fans were upset over the short length of the young girls skirts, and they let Shannon know about it.
One follower stated simply: “I honestly don’t know why girls think it’s necessary to dress like this. Not classy at all.”
Another added: “These young ladies barely have on any clothes. These dresses are tacky for high school students.”
And a third suggested a makeover: “Those dresses need something. They look like bathing suits? Maybe if they were just 2 inches longer?”
Some fans targeted the 57-year-old mom: “(I) don’t understand those dresses. I have three daughters who always looked beautiful when they went to formal dances, but those dresses are way to SHORT for girls of that age… parenting skills?”

Others just got right to their point, as one person noted: “Awful! How about wearing a dress that fits you!” as another chimed in, “Less is more.”
KELLY’S CONTROVERSY
Shannon isn’t the first OC Housewife to face criticism before their child’s big dance.
In October, fired star Kelly Dodd was slammed for posting pics of “huge high school boys.”
The 46-year-old made the comment as she shared photos from her 15-year-old daughter Jolie’s homecoming.
Alongside the slides, the RHOC alum wrote: “@joliedodd homecoming!! These boys are huge they didn’t look like this when I was in HS in 1993! And I’m not Mary Kay Letourneau.
Shortly after Kelly shared the post, Bravo fans rushed to the comments section to slam the fired TV personality for making the comment about the teenage boys.
‘CREEPER’
One fan wrote: “Don’t be a creeper,’ as another added, “You are the worst.”
A third chimed in: “You sound like a f***ing creeper!”
While one person deemed the comment as “very inappropriate,” another said: “Ewww that you would even make a comment like that.”
The backlash continued as one user said: “Oh god, now Kelly is talking about how good looking minors are.”
Kelly shares daughter Jolie with ex-husband Michael Dodd, who she divorced in 2018.
